Microsoft Printer Driver Changes Notice
Key Timeline
- January 15, 2026: No new third-party printer drivers published to Windows Update for Windows 11+
- July 1, 2026: Windows will prefer built-in IPP drivers over third-party drivers
- July 1, 2027: Third-party printer driver updates no longer allowed (except security fixes)
